LISTING QUESTIONS

How long will my property listing remain on the Market Home website for?

Your listing will remain on the website for a period of 6 months

Can I adjust the selling price of my property after I have listed it?

Yes.  All you need to do is log into your profile, select your property and adjust the price

I subscribed to the full package. Can I renew my listing after 6 months without paying full price?

Yes.  You will only pay the digital package price unless your would like a new Market Home welcome package then you would need to pay for the full package again.

PROPERTY TRANSFER

What do I do when I find a buyer?

Both parties need to fill in the offer to purchase and then contact a conveyancing attorney.

How long does it take to for the property to transfer into my name?

It can take up to 3 months for the whole process to be completed.

Can I use any conveyancing attorney?

Of course you can, but we recommend you use our recommended attorney who have 3 main offices throughout the country and if you are not in their area, no problem because everything is done with the use of a courier service

What happens if the buyer needs a home loan?

The buyer will need to apply for a home loan either through a mortgage originator or directly through their bank. Please remember that the sale is only successful ones the buyer’s finance has been approved.

Where do I get a sales agreement / offer to purchase?

If you sign up for the digital package we will send them to you via email and if you sign up for the full package we will send you 3 copies and if you need more we will email you the document.

WHAT NOW

I have not had the response I have hoped for. What should I do?

Make sure that your price is market related and reduce your asking price if necessary.

What are the chances of selling my property privately?

If your house is priced correctly, you will sell it.

A real estate agent has contacted me directly. What do I do?

You chose to sell your property privately.  If you sign up with a real estate agent you will pay commission of up to 8%.  Tell the agent that you are selling your home privately and that you will contact them if you decide to use their services in the future.

Can I use a real estate agent and list my property on Market Home at the same time?

Yes, so long as you have not signed a sole mandate with the real estate agent.

Is it a good idea to have a show day?

We recommend that you have a show day and we have some great tips on how to get your home ready.  Just please remember to stay safe when letting strangers into your space

I do not have money to fix up my property before selling. Will I still sell?

Yes, but you will need to adjust your selling price as buyers will then need to spend money to get the property up to standard.

Is social media really that important?

Absolutely! Read our Social Media Tips for more info.  Remember, Market Home is not a real estate agency, we are a property listing portal so the selling it up to you.  The more you push your property yourself the better your chances are of selling quickly.

Which sign up package do you think I should take?

Definitely the Full Package.  The benefits and savings are huge!
